DULLES, Va. (Wireless Flash) -- Whether you're an "e-male" or an "e-female" the internet is becoming a hot place to flirt with potential dates.
According to a new poll by the online personals service Love.com, 12 percent of unmarried singles with internet access flirt by e-mail or instant messaging daily.
About 9 percent say they customize their internet messages with colorful wallpaper or icons to make them more "flirty" -- the same percentage who have asked someone out on a date by instant messaging them.
-- It takes an average of four weeks of computerized flirting before internet daters will arrange a hook-up offline.
-- 10 percent have conducted online searches on a guy or girl they met online before agreeing to go out with them.
-- And, finally, 10 percent of folks who have tried internet dating services
say their boss has caught them trolling for dates online during work hours.
